Bird Over the Valley

Flip the ken over a bird balance — and re-land the bird.

Difficulty Rung 3 of 6 on the Advanced ladder

From a held bird, the ken pops up and over the tama in one round arc and re-lands the balance on the way down. One of the prettiest tricks in kendama.

How it's done

  1. 一

    Land a solid bird.

  2. 二

    Pop the ken up and over the tama in one smooth arc.

  3. 三

    Let it rotate as it travels.

  4. 四

    Re-land the bird as the ken comes down.
